Previewing and Importing the Import Spreadsheet

Overview

To import new data into your system database, you must preview it in your import file to check for errors. If any are detected, fix them, and then proceed with importing.

Previewing the Configuration Data

To preview the import data

  1. Go to the form into which you want to import data.

  2. Click Import.

  3. From the Import <form name> dialog box, click Browse.

  4. Navigate to the . csv file and then click Next.

A Validating Data dialog appears.

  1. Review the data listed in the Import Preview window.

If no errors are detected, proceed to Import Configuration Data.

  1. If the Import Preview window displays errors, select from the follow options:

  2. Previous - to return to the Import dialog box, revise the import file data, and begin the import process again.

  3. Show Only Errors/Show All Data - to show records with errors, or to show all records. By default, the Preview window shows only entries with errors.

  4. Print - to print the Preview window to keep a record of the errors. Note that Print is enabled only when you are in the Show Only Errors view (that is, when Show All Data is displayed at the bottom of the screen).

  5. Cancel - to cancel the import and return to the form. After you cancel, you can modify data in the import file, or exit the form and try the import process at a later time.

Importing the Configuration Data

To import new User and Services Configuration data

  1. From the Import Preview window, click Import.

  1. You can stop an import in progress by clicking Cancel.
    After the import is stopped, click OK to return to the form.

  1. When the import completes successfully, click Finish to return to the form.

  2. If necessary, troubleshoot import errors.

  3. If importing users, proceed to Adding Users to complete programming users and continue setting up your system.
